When looking for a wedding photographer, it is so important to find someone who can "make" special moments, but it is even more important to find someone who can capture those candid moments that no one could ever create or recreate. “My husband and I just got our pictures back from Ben and all we can say is WOW (to alllll of them). We first found Ben on Instagram and fell in love with his photos, especially the black and white photos. At this time we narrowed it down to 3 photographers we were interested in for our engagement and wedding photos. Ben was the first one we met with and we just clicked. After that, there was no other photographer we wanted to use. Ben was very helpful accommodating our schedule for our engagement pictures and although it was hot out, he made the day fun and light- I almost forgot we were sweating. When our wedding day came around, Ben contacted us about a month before to set a timeline for the wedding day. On the wedding day, Ben was more than amazing- he showed up on time, ready to shoot. He was so patient and good with giving directions. The whole day was wonderful and Ben took us out to do more photos close to sunset which turned out AMAZING. “Ben is the absolute best. We were married in the mountains of Vermont and HAD to have him (have you seen his work?!) and luckily he was willing to travel! Ben was so much fun to work with. During our engagement shoot, he alternated between being invisible and giving directives for the best pictures. He made us feel comfortable and natural. We were hesitant to do a first look, but are SO glad we did!! We got amazing photos and weren't rushed to finish during "cocktail hour". Plus, that first moment shared between us was so much more comfortable and natural than if it had taken place in front of a crowd. During the wedding itself, Ben was everywhere at every moment. He didn't seem to miss a moment and never stopped working. He blended into the wedding seamlessly. I cannot recommend Benjamin Hewitt Photography enough. “Ben was amazing to work with! We had such a great time getting to know him and getting our photos done by him. My husband doesn't always like getting his picture taken, but Ben made both of us feel so relaxed and natural. This really showed in our engagement and wedding photos. One thing of the stand-out things about Ben was his non-invasive approach. He didn't interfere and "direct" our day with "posed" pictures, but rather captured our natural selves throughout the day and was able to capture some very intimate moments. One thing all of our family and friends have said was how much our personalities really show in the pictures, and that is what makes an amazingly talented photographer. “My girlfriend and I got our pictures taken by Ben in California, Big Sur. He made us feel so comfortable and we became friends within the minute which made the experience so much fun. “As most couples who are about to get married understand, going through the process to find the RIGHT people for all the different jobs associated with your wedding can be tedious, especially finding your photographer. However, working with Benjamin was probably the EASIEST decision we ever made. His passion for what he does was easily recognizable from our first meeting and his work is remarkable. Our wedding pictures came out breathtaking. Truly blew us away. We could not be more happy with the results! My advice to those who are getting married is to invest MORE in your photographer and LESS on the little things that people won’t remember, like the types of linens on the table or the flower arrangements.
